In the second week of August, my piece “In Transit” will be performed by the Dutch Student Orchestra. In Transit is a percussion concerto for tuned percussion and large orchestra, and will be performed by Dominique Vleeshouwers and conducted by Frans-Aert Burghgraef. To top things off, both my piece and the following piece in the programme, Wagner’s The Ring, will be accompanied by light-art visuals by light artist Teus van der Stelt. In the second week of April my first orchestra piece will be premiered in a 5-day tour in The Netherlands. The piece Configuring pixellations is a 3 minute crescendo in a pointillistic guise, hence the title. The piece will be performed in many different locations including inside, and outside, churches or schools, and will therefore sound differently in every performance.

I’m happy to announce the performance of a special composition of mine. A few months back I got in touch with the Ministerie van Volksgezondheid, Welzijn en Sport who commissioned music to be played during the inauguration ceremony of the Dutch Olympic athletes on Friday the 23rd of March.
After a brief but very fun process of writing I’m really looking forward to be showing a very different side of my composing. Apart from my original music that will be played during the beginning and the end of the ceremony, an arrangement I made of Satie’s Sports et Divertissements will be played during the intermission, all of which will be played by the amazing group Neo-Fanfare 9×13.
It’ll be broadcast live from 13:15 until 14:50 on NPO1 so be sure to tune in! Click here for more info.
